Maker spaces are for everyone to explore their passions and use their imagination. Anyone from the itty-bitties to high schoolers can use raw materials, tools, technology, and repurposed items to achieve individual or collaborative goals in a maker space.
This is the buzz. This is the current trend. This is what is happening in K-12. Washington, D.C. is on top of the movement as President Obama has announced June 17-23, 2016 as the National Week of Making.
Borrowing from Paul Simon, “Hop on the bus, you don’t need to discuss much” as TCEA has engineered three separate days in the coming months for you to explore the maker movement and learn how to bring it back to your classroom, library, campus, or district. Join us on May 24, July 15, or September 23 to make, make, make, and make some more. This won’t be a talking heads presentation. Instead, you’ll dive right in and experience the joy (and possible despair?) of making for yourself in a day full of hands-on, minds-on, experiential learning. Lunch will be provided, so there’ll be no wasted time tackling Austin traffic.
