With fall comes cooler weather, the riotous colors of changing leaves, and of course, TCEA’s Fall Free Membership Drive! This year, you can sign up for a free membership from October 16 through 20!
What is TCEA?
“What does TCEA stand for”? Good question. We’re the Texas Computer Education Association, and since 1980, TCEA’s nonprofit mission has been to advance teaching and learning through the use of technology. From the district level to the classroom, it’s our goal to be your partner, your mentor, and your support group at every level of your career.
Who does TCEA serve?
We may have Texas in our name, but TCEA is for everyone who’s a stakeholder in education, no matter where you live. It’s for educators, instructional coaches, librarians, and library media specialists; principals, superintendents, campus administrators, and district administrators; tech support technicians and chief technology officers; undergraduate students and higher education academics; and parents, grandparents, and homeschool teachers. If you’re someone invested in teaching and learning, then TCEA is the place for you. It’s our mission to give you the tools you need to succeed.
What is the TCEA Fall Free Membership Drive?
For our Fall Membership drive, we’re not limiting a free membership just to you, either! If you’d like to give our benefits to your entire staff, team, or even your entire school, we can make that happen for you! Just select the option “I would like to sign up a group of people for TCEA membership” when filling out the form, and we’ll get all of your people taken care of!
What TCEA Membership Offers Educators
While our membership might not cost you a dime when you apply during these dates, the benefits of a TCEA membership to educators are invaluable. Let’s take a look at what TCEA can offer you and your staff.
The TCEA Online Community
Need support from outside your school? Want to find out what other educators are using? Or are you simply on the hunt for a new tip, trick, or resource? Look no further than the TCEA Community, where over 80,000 educators are on call to give you the support you need. The TCEA Community also offers almost 40 different content-specific sub-groups, a complete archive of free-to-member ed tech webinars, and an online knowledge center where you can collaborate and discuss the issues that matter most with educators near and far.
30-minute Weekly Webinars
Our weekly Lunch and Learn and Partner webinars are made by and for educators just like you, from all over the country and even the world. They’re your chance to learn about verified, reliable tools, trends, research, and strategies that can boost your outcomes – all in just 30 minutes a week! Can’t attend? No problem! Register anyway, and we’ll send you a link to the recording after the webinar!
TCEA Recordings and Resources Library
Don’t have the time to attend webinars? Need to find a vetted, verified tool, and want to make sure it comes from another educator? Come check out our Recordings and Resources Library, where we’ve stored dozens of recordings of all our Lunch and Learns and Partner Webinars going back years! The Library is searchable as well, so you can literally summon up years of experience at the push of a button.
Forever-Free Membership
Don’t want to have to think about another membership renewal? You don’t have to with TCEA! Once you become a TCEA member, your membership will automatically renew on that date every single year going forward. This means you retain all of these great benefits – forever!
What do TCEA members say?
You don’t have to take our word for it! Our own TCEA members had this to say about our benefits:
TCEA is an abundant resource in itself… There isn’t a thing that you cannot find with TCEA. The valuable insights that you can learn from other districts are priceless… The added benefit of being able to find a vast amount of resources through the TCEA Community makes life as a tech director easier.
– Jason O., Technology Director
One of the most important things I have learned, experienced, and valued through TCEA is the opportunity to network. Not just network to be networking, but to be involved with peers of like mind, abilities, share the same passions, and love making a difference through the use of technology in education… The plethora of accumulated knowledge and experience you have access to by just asking one question [in the Community] is quite amazing. If Google had a heartbeat, voice, and physical presence this would embody every aspect of TCEA.
– Demoseneeds P., Senior Programmer/Data & Information Specialist
Anytime I come across a new teacher, the first thing I recommend they do is become part of TCEA. It’s like having a team of instant mentors, whether that be TCEA staff or fellow members… Every Lunch-&-Learn and conference is an opportunity to reconnect with friends.
